But when you do this, remember you are both a writer and the fictional persona you just imagined. ![]() So a good way to begin writing would be speaking the words out loud. As we are used to writing for someone’s eyes and not ears, we end up bringing our hang-ups to our voiceover texts. It is not uncommon advice given to voiceover scriptwriters, but it is an indispensable one. How to write the Script Write like you’d speak This step will help you immensely as you are making edits later. And once you have answers to the questions, bring them together to create a fictional persona to whom you are speaking. So, borrow from wherever, when you are trying to understand your audience. These questions might sound like a list right out of customer research or even character research for a film. Ask yourself some basic questions like their age, what gender they ascribe to, what would they hope to find in this message, and what mood do you want to translate? Even though this person is lurking at the back of your mind, you can make your script sharper if you flesh out the persona of this person. When you are writing your script, you know exactly who is going to resonate with the message you are sending out. Let’s take a look at some basic ideas you can follow to write an effective script : Before Writing the Script Know your audience It can sound a little daunting, but it is far from difficult if you keep a few things in mind before you are all set to tell your story. Your voiceover script is your main script, and the narration style inside your head is your cheat sheet, and your final voiceover should be a confluence of the two. Quite frequently, you also have to work as a director to understand the instructions you will provide to professional voice artists or the AI voice generator. It is not enough to think as an author but work as an editor yourself. Any changes you make in the Narration Script window will also be reflected in the Notes panel ( see above).Writing voiceovers is a tricky business. The Record Microphone and Narration Script windows must be closed before you switch to a different slide, then reopened when you need to use them again. Your narration script will still be saved if you cancel out of the Record Microphone window.
